Ingredients

Steps

  1. Put the cucumber slices in a shaker with the lemon juice and honey syrup. Press them a few times with the back of a spoon, just enough to bruise them.
  2. Add the gin and a handful of ice.
  3. Shake for about 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into a tall glass over fresh ice and top with club soda.
  5. Add a cucumber wheel.

A bar White Linen often uses elderflower liqueur. Honey, lemon, and a cucumber from the grocery store get you the same pale, quiet drink without a special bottle. Use the honey syrup from the Gold Rush if you already made it.

Make it a mocktail: Cucumber Linen

Skip the gin. Muddle the cucumber with 3/4 oz (22.5 ml) lemon and 1/2 oz (15 ml) honey syrup, shake with ice, strain over fresh ice, and top with 4 oz (120 ml) club soda.

Batch for two

For two: muddle 6 cucumber slices with 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) lemon and 1 oz (30 ml) honey syrup, then add 4 oz (120 ml) gin. Shake in two rounds. Top each glass with 2 oz (60 ml) club soda.
