Nashville rainy-day date ideas
Short answer: when it rains in Nashville, go somewhere built for staying put: the Frist Art Museum, a film at the Belcourt, bowling at Pinewood, the free-play arcade at Game Terminal, bouldering at The Climb, a distillery tour at Nelson's Green Brier, or a seated songwriter show at The Listening Room. All of them are fully indoors.
Rainy weekend daytime (nap-time dates)
- Whiskey tour. Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in Marathon Village runs tours and tastings daily ($25 for adults 21+). Weekends often sell out, so book online. There's a free lot across the street.
- Art. The Frist Art Museum is in a former Art Deco post office on Broadway. Adult admission is $20 ($10 through Oct 26, 2026). It's closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Climb. The Climb (Nashville West / Nashville East) has West and East Nashville gyms; a day pass with gear is about $26 ($22 for your first visit).
Rainy weeknight
- Bowling and dinner under one roof. A lane at Pinewood is $67.50 for 90 minutes Monday through Thursday.
- Movie night out. The The Belcourt Theatre, $13.50 a ticket, real popcorn.
- Arcade. Game Terminal: free entry for adults, most games free, 21+ after 8 PM.
- Escape room. The Escape Game Nashville downtown or in Berry Hill. Unlimited hints, no judgment.
Rainy night with music
- The Listening Room Cafe for songwriter rounds with dinner ($5–15 cover plus a $15-per-person minimum).
- 3rd & Lindsley for a seated show with a full kitchen.
- Rudy's Jazz Room for jazz, with no cover on the 5–8 PM sets.
Rainy-night dinner that feels cozy
- Peninsula (Thursday to Saturday only): small and candle-lit.
- Two Ten Jack: ramen weather.
- The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club: cocktails and real food in a cozy room, open until midnight.
If the sitter cancels too
Stay in and do a Bartender's Choice pasta night or a chocolate tasting.
